Joseph F. Traub is the Edwin Howard Armstrong Professor of Computer Science at Columbia University and External Professor at the Santa Fe Institute. In addition to many other positions he has held, Dr. Traub served as Head of the Carnegie Mellon University Computer Science Department between 1971 and 1979.
