This series contains information relating to CMU’s branch of the Document Design Project, known as the Communication Design Center (CDC). The CDC conducted both undergraduate and graduate courses on clear writing and plain language. Enrollment in the classes offered by the CDC officially began in the fall of 1980 and allowed students to work with scholars and professionals in various fields to develop better plain language practices. The material in this series document some of the student projects and the Center's collaboration with Allen-Bradley, People’s Natural Gas Co., and Sverdrup Tech.
