Deans' Subject files, 1924-2000

The Deans' subject file series is housed in six boxes and is arranged alphabetically. Most of the materials in this series have been kept in the original organization of Dean Herbert Toor (1965-1980) and Dean Angel Jordan (1980-1983), although some large "general" folders have been divided by the archivist for easier use. Generally, this series contains correspondence, reports, and department publications which were filed under department or research institute names. There are a small number of faculty files and search committee files which are restricted in this series. The "general" files in the beginning of this series represent materials that were unclassified or interdisciplinary in nature. Also, Dean Jordan's general correspondence files can be found under the subseries "Jordan."
