The general information series is housed in one box and is arranged alphabetically by folder title. It includes materials that deal with the College as a whole and contains a variety of subject files and publications. In particular, ten years of "Freshman Books" are in this series. These books were handed out to professors who agreed to be mentors or advisors for the freshmen. They contain roosters of the freshman class and minutes from the meetings of the advisors. Also included in this series is a booklet from the 1901 meeting of the Engineers' Society of Western Pennsylvania which discusses the proper curriculum for the new schools endowed by Andrew Carnegie.
