"Surreal Rythms" The Surrealist Ball, Boston -- "Video Crossing-Magical DAX" Documentary, 1986

The videotapes in this series are archival copies of the original videos (in the 3/4-inch U-matic cassettes and 1/2-inch Betamax formats) unto Hi-8 videos, made by Matt Wrbican in 1990-1991. The original videos were retained by Bruce Breland. The videos consist mostly of recordings of slowscan television exchanges; some documentary footage of art events is also present. The cassette tapes consist mostly of conversations, and also contain some sound recordings used in art exchanges. More detailed descriptions, including names of participants and rough outline, were provided by Matt Wrbican for each audio and videotape.
