Biographical Sketch

Theron Wasson received his BS in Engineering at the Carnegie Institute of Technology in 1910. He later established the William Elton Mott Scholarship Fund.

In 1921, Mr. Wasson went to Ecuador on an oil exploration. He kept journals while there, which contain notes not only on geology, but also on local plants, animals, and people.

Overview

Theron Wasson was an Engineering student at CIT and earned his B.S. in 1910. In 1921, Wasson went to Ecuador on an oil exploration. His collection includes three journals that he wrote during the exploration. Digitized version of Wasson's 1921 journals are available.

Provenance

The materials were donated to the archive by Theron Wasson's grandson, Peter Bergstrom, in December 2011 and July 2013.

The collection was arranged and the finding aid written by J. Dustin Williams on December 6, 2011. It was updated on August 30, 2013 by Laure Bukh with a new accession received in 2013.
