Susan Willis Collection
Scope and Contents note
The Susan Willis papers are housed in four archival boxes, and are arranged in two series. Series have been designated for (I) Professional Life, and (II) Personal Life. The papers include playbills, scripts, scrapbooks, photographs, news clippings, study materials, cards, and letters. The collection relates almost entirely to Ms. Willis’ life on stage and screen, with the bulk of material from 1950-1980. The collection is mostly scripts, playbills, news clippings, and photographs.

Biographical/Historical note
Susan Crobaugh Willis was a student of drama at Carnegie Tech in 1947. As an actress, she worked on Broadway roles including Fraulein Schneider in the original production of Cabaret, Fiddler on the Roof, and the classical, Medea. Much of her career took place in the theatre, but did branch into the big screen. Her film credits include Clint Eastwood’s Mystic River, The Majestic with Jim Carey, What About Bob with Bill Murray, and She-Devil with Meryl Streep. She also appeared in the television series, All My Children, for three years playing the character Helga Voynitzeva. She was active with the Village Recycling Center from its beginning, and with the Fire Island Pines Art Council.
