William Nelson Collection
Scope and Contents note
The William Nelson Collection primarily contains programs and photographs of School of Drama productions during the years 1948-1951. The material that is included relates to Nelson’s activities as Staff Lighting Director.
The contents are divided into two series: Photographs, and Printed Materials.
The Photograph Collection makes up the majority of the Nelson Collection and is arranged chronologically by date of production. The plays that have programs associated with them are specially noted within the title of the folder. The Printed Materials series is smaller in size and contains mostly departmental files including lists of productions, various programs, and lighting blueprints.

It is unknown how this collection originally arrived at the Carnegie Mellon University archives. The William Nelson Collection was originally maintained by the archives as part of the School of Drama records until the material was deaccessioned in 2014 and currently exists as its own collection.
